How fast does it open?

As fast as 1.3 seconds on Access Pro and Parking Pro. Longer arms take 4–8 seconds, and Toll HighSpeed 2 opens in 0.3 seconds.

Will it work with my keypad, card reader, remote, plate camera or ticket machine?

Yes. Magnetic controllers accept standard dry-contact inputs, and MGC Pro adds Ethernet, radio and RS485. We list the exact modules for your access device on the quote.

Yes, in almost every case. Vehicle loops keep the arm up while a car is under it and close it behind. The 2-channel loop detector is built in.

What happens in a power outage?

Add a battery backup option to keep the gate cycling, or choose a solar model that never depends on grid power.

Can people walk under it?

No. Barrier arms are for vehicles, so give people a separate walkway. A boom skirt or grille deters walking under the arm.

What if a car hits the arm?

Breakaway options let the arm swing free instead of snapping, so it's quick to reset.

What does UL 325 certified mean?

It means the operator was tested to the US gate-operator safety standard. Access, Access Pro, Parking Pro, Toll and Access XL2/XXL are certified to UL 325 by TÜV SÜD, an NRTL; for other models, UL 325 status is confirmed on your quote.

How long does it last?

Most models are built for 10 million cycles on a maintenance-free direct drive. XL2 and XXL are rated for 2 million.

UL 325, simply.

UL 325 is the US safety standard for gate operators. It sorts gates into four classes by where they're used.

Certified to UL 325 by TÜV SÜD, an NRTL: Access, Access Pro, Parking Pro, Toll, Access XL2/XXL. Other models: UL 325 status confirmed on your quote.

Class I: Homes and small residential groups (up to 4 units).
Class II: Commercial and public sites — HOAs, apartments, hotels, garages, retail.
Class III: Industrial sites not open to the public.
Class IV: Guarded, restricted sites such as airports and prisons.

Every Coyote quote includes the two independent entrapment-protection devices UL 325 requires (vehicle loops + photo eye).
Barrier arms are for vehicles only. Pedestrians need a separate walkway.
