Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Coyote Traffic ("Coyote Traffic," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit www.coyotetraffic.com (the "Site"), request a quote, place an order, create an account, chat with us, or otherwise contact us by phone, text, or email. It is part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Use and Terms of Sale (the "Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

Coyote Traffic sells traffic-control equipment primarily to businesses, property owners, contractors, and government and military customers. Most of the information we handle is business contact information provided by people acting for their organizations. By using the Site or providing information to us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. We collect the information you choose to give us, including when you request a quote, place or pay for an order, create an account, use live chat, call or text us, or sign up for updates. This may include:

  • name, job title, company or agency name, and business type;
  • email address, phone and mobile numbers, and billing, shipping, and job-site addresses;
  • project details, such as site location, quantities, product selections, drawings, photos, and installation requirements;
  • purchase order numbers, tax-exemption certificates, vendor-registration forms, and similar purchasing documents;
  • account username and password; and
  • the content of your messages, chats, calls, and other communications with us.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). Card numbers are entered directly with the processor and are not stored on our servers. We receive limited details such as the cardholder name, card type, last four digits, expiration date, and billing address, along with confirmation that payment succeeded. Payments by check, ACH, or wire are handled through our bank.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, and the dates and times of visits. We collect this through cookies, pixels, server logs, and similar technologies, as described under "Cookies and Analytics" below.

Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from distributors, resellers, installers, and general contractors working on the same project; from shipping carriers; from public procurement and bid sources; and from business-contact and lead sources. We combine this with information we already have to respond to inquiries and fulfill orders.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to inquiries and prepare, send, and follow up on quotes;
  • process, fulfill, ship, install, and invoice orders, and verify payment and tax-exemption status;
  • provide warranty service, technical support, installation guidance, and customer service;
  • send transactional messages about quotes, orders, shipping, delivery, installation scheduling, and service;
  • manage your account and maintain our business records;
  • send marketing communications about products, promotions, and updates, subject to your choices described below;
  • operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Site and our products and services;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other misuse; and
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and contractual obligations, and enforce our Terms.

Text Messages

If you provide a mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from Coyote Traffic about quotes, orders, shipping, delivery, installation, and service, and you may receive occasional marketing messages, as described in our Terms. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that help us deliver our text messages.

Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work (for example, keeping you signed in, remembering items in a cart, and protecting forms from spam), as well as analytics and advertising technologies that help us understand how visitors use the Site and measure the performance of our ads. These may include tools provided by Google (such as Google Analytics and Google Ads) and other analytics, chat, and advertising providers. These providers may collect information about your use of the Site and other websites over time. When you submit a quote or contact request, we may share a hashed (encrypted) version of your email address and phone number with Google to measure the performance of our ads.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although some Site features may not work without them. You can learn about Google's practices and opt-out options at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We will verify your request using information we already have, such as your email address or order details, and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of the agent's authority. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision and asking us to reconsider. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

We may keep information we are required to retain by law, or that we need for tax, accounting, warranty, or recordkeeping purposes, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, even after a deletion request.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including for the life of any product warranty and as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Order, invoice, and warranty records are generally retained for at least seven years. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections on the Site and third-party processing of card payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential, as described in the Terms.

The Site and our products are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
